Tamar’s #DigitalHistory – The Story of Snapchat

Here at Tamar, we’ve been marking our 20th year by looking at digital networks who have been around as long as we have – and how they got to where they are today. So far we’ve looked at Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest.

Our latest subject is a site which has tripled its user base in the past 12 months alone – and has only been around since 2011, but has grown to become one of the most-used and most talked-about apps of the moment – yes, it’s time to take a look at Snapchat.

As usual, our #DigitalHistory infographic chronicles the growth of the site over it’s full history, from launch to today – including growth milestones, user stats, a few financials and more. But here are a few other facts (thanks to a recent Econsultancy piece) to whet your appetite, before you dive in:

65% of Snapchat users are sharing content on a DAILY basis

It would take 10 years to view all the photos shared on Shapchat in the PAST HOUR alone

Cosmopolitan magazine is averaging 3m viewers daily on Snapchat

More photos are shared on Snapchat than any other network (more on just how big that is here: “How big is snapchat?“)

So without any further ado, here is our latest #DigitalHistory infographic. The story of Snapchat:
