Tamar’s #DigitalHistory – The Story of Pinterest
With our twentieth birthday fast approaching, we’ve seen many sites come and go – from the highs (Facebook, Google) to the lows (remember Boo.com?!). We’ve seen them all, and we’ve learnt many lessons from them.
Throughout 2014, we released a series of infographics which explored the birth and dramatic growth of some of the most famous brands on the internet. The series included Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn – all of which we’ll be updating as the sites continue to grow.
The latest site to be added to the series was the darling of designers and creative types the world over – and at one point purported to be the number one traffic driver to several global retailers. Pinterest has made a big impact considering it was only launched in 2010 – and has only been “open to the public” for 3 years.
Whether you use Pinterest to collate your wedding plans, search for creative DIY projects, share infographics or just to window shop, it’s hard to argue that the site has made a phenomenal impact in a really short space of time – and with changes continuing to be announced on a monthly basis, it looks set to dominate for a long time to come.
So get ready to do some pinning, and take a look at our #DigitalHistory infographic…
