19th December – Remember Usain Bolt’s 100m Victory?

“Number one baby, all day, every day!”…

Today we celebrate Usain Bolt’s 100m victory. Bolt beat off the likes of Blake and Gatlin to win Olympic Gold, completing the sprint in just 9.63 seconds.

If the two billion people watching Bolt had blinked, they could have missed it. Bolt really did show why he is so often regarded as the ‘lightning bolt’ and fastest person… ever!

Outtakes:  It’s always exciting to find out new things about space, and this year we’ve had a lot of developments – Including discovering that that our galaxy is so white it would resemble fresh snow to the human eye.  This is a significant finding, as it has previously been difficult to observe the Milky Way’s colour because Earth is at the centre of it.  The Curiosity mission’s Rover also landed on  Mars this year. The overall purpose of Rover is to investigate Mars’ habitability, studying its climate and geology, and collecting data for a manned mission to Mars
