13 December 2012

Today our ‘Year to Celebrate’ app celebrates Sarah Storey OBE, Paralympian. Storey triumped in 2012 winning not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Gold medals at London 2012.

In the six Paralympics she has competed in, Sarah has won a whopping 22 medals – 11 of which were Gold. Originally she competed in swimming events, but soon realised that she was also an incredibly talented cyclist.  So unlike a lot of Olympian/Paralympian athletes, she has won medals for two completely unrelated disciplines. All those medals, and now she has an honouree degree from University of Manchester,  to add to her achievements…

Outtakes: The most searched for city on Google (in the UK) this year, was London. The Jubilee and the Olympics really did put London and Great Britain at the forefront of everyone’s minds and this certainly is something to celebrate!
