Facebook evidently likes to try and keep things looking fresh! Although the original timeline format was met with mixed reactions, marketers in general seemed to *like* the new format. Facebook is mixing it up, again, and testing a new format.

The new format sees all the posts in a single column, on the left, and then activity modules in a narrower column on the right.

This test deals with the common complaint that users don’t like having to look back and forth on the page as they scroll through the stream. The new format:

• Is a one column format
• Has a wider “What’s on your mind” publisher as well as posts
• Has a smaller open graph modules
• Right side will appear blank instead of moving wall posts back to the right.

This format still enables users to jump to a specific month, or year, via the timeline of dates, in the right hand corner. Currently, only a small number of users have this format enabled on their profile.

Stay posted for more updates.

What do you think and what would you like to see on timeline?
