May 31 2010 – Quit Facebook Day?
Matthew Milan and Joseph Dee are tired of Facebook and are taking a stand. What are they taking a stand about you might wonder? Simple. Privacy, and the lack of it that Facebook is showing towards its users.
They have decided enough is enough and are trying to gain support in their attempt to stop Facebook essentially bullying their users. They aren’t anyone special, just two young men who use social media in their everyday lives. So why should we listen?
Facebook has become a dominant force lately with the social networking site closing in on 500 million users, and at just six years of age! With the launch of the Open Graph API, Facebook is extending its reach even further, and has become the most viewed website – taking Google’s crown last month.
Now Matthew and Joseph think someone needs to take a stand against the social giant, and therefore they have decided to quit Facebook. Not only that, but they are making a serious attempt to try and coax as many people as possible into following them in their attempt to get Facebook to take note of what users want.
Why are we quitting?
It will be interesting to see if how much traction this movement gets over Facebook itself.
