Google Caffeine on a datacenter near you – soon
You may remember that back in August we announced that Google was updating their infrastructure and the process was called caffeine.
On the back of that they launched a test ‘site’ where you could search and see what impact this had on the search results. And if they were not what you expected you coudl report back into them.
Anyway, this has now all ceased and the word is that the new caffeine results are soon to be trialled on a, as yet unknown, datacenter.
As soon as we find out what this datacenter is we will update you in the meantome there is a holding page here giving details on the end of the trial and next steps. To quote:
Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given.
So it may be wise to expect some fluctuation as this is rolled out. No timelines as yet but probably expect something in the next couple of weeks, if not sooner.Tweet
