Today Twitter launched a brand new social network designed specifically for the office market. Due to huge growth in its original format, Twitter hired a team of experts to monitor user behaviour. The team found that a staggering 76% of all tweets posted between August 2008 and February 2009 were posted by office workers during office hours, and displayed typical ‘idle’ behaviour.
Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey took inspiration from these findings and has founded the specialist social network ‘Slacker’ where likeminded users can interact with their friends rather than concentrating on the job at hand.
