Twitter in Primary School!

Twitter is to be taught in primary schools in Britain as part of an effort to make online communication and social media part of the UK’s education system. Other additions to the education system include classes for blogging, podcasting and Wikipedia. Children will also learn keyboard skills and how to use spellchecker.

The plans have been drawn up by Sir Jim Rose, the former Ofsted chief who was appointed by ministers to overhaul the primary school curriculum.

What are your thoughts on what are being seen as the biggest changes to primary schooling in the last decade?

I love the idea provided it is a half hour course, it can’t take more than that to teach someone how to twitter.
I would think that the kids are more social media savvy than Sir Rose himself…
