Facebook recently had a redesign to it's homepage which resulted in quite a few unhappy users.

Yesterday Facebook decided to respond with a lengthy blog post which explains how they make product decisions. In the post they also let users know about upcoming changes that will be made; like live updating, photo tags, tools to control applications, seeing more highlights and easier ways to create a friends list filter.

These upcoming changes seems like it will address most of the concerns. Personally, I think that the friend filters will make things so much more easier to manage.
