Odd results on Friday 31st?

Did you see anything?

We spotted some strange rankings, well lack of them, last Friday on a number of sites and areas and we did wonder if this was part of any ongoing changes, part of the ‘holiday rankings’ or something else. So arriving back from Cape Town early on Saturday morning while waiting for my luggage, thanks Terminal One for a 40 minute wait, I checked to see if the results had stayed and they hadn’t, all looked back to normal.

But you always do wonder about these things and a few doom mongerers had forecast this was a new batch of results and we were all going to die blah blah blah.

So it was good to see Matt Cutts swing by WMW to confirm this was not the end of the world, to wit: ”I don’t consider those rankings indicative of anything coming in the future. Some data went into the index without all of our quality signals incorporated, and it should be mostly back to normal and continuing to get back to normal over the course of the day”.

So if you did see any odd results last Friday then all should be back to usual, whatever that is, by the time you read this.

Right, off to do some chanting to send some good vibes over to City for this afternoon’s game.
