One way in which SEO’s can maximise their clients rankings, is by submitting press releases to various news and press release sites on behalf of these websites.

Optimised press releases, that is.

This means that every press release of between 300 and 500 words must have the relevant, optimised keyword in the body of the text as often as naturally possible and is often optimized for niche search terms. The keyword can be used in the heading of the press release, but copywriters must avoid creating “spammy” content at all costs.

Because a press release incorporates anchor text based on search terms associated with your website, this helps to build link popularity for your website, increased visibility for your site and increased traffic to your site.

So far so good.

The major points though, are that these press releases create backlinks for the client website, while archived press releases deliver long-term link value. Press releases are also said to help websites get out of the Google “sandbox” faster.
