Update from Vuyani

Paving stones, gardens, donations and swings

I popped along to the school in Gugulethu today in order to have a wee peaek at a number of developments since my last visit in February to Vuyani. I am pleased to say that real porgress has been maintained with the excellent addition of some paving stones outside the new schoolroom. It might not sound like much but the alternative has been sand or mud being dragged into the classroom so it has made a huge difference.

I was really impressed with the addition of garden and vegetables plots in the play area. These look fantastic and I am told the vegeatbles are eaten by the children in the school.

We delivered some donations in the form of books, clothes and sundry other items which were well received as always.

And finally the swings we built last year were imptroved upon recently and are now a lot firmer!

That’s all for now, in the meantime I am away to shelter from the snow and, ice and hail that is prevelant in Cape Town at this time of year. Check here for more details..
