It actually took me quite a while to come up with my three favorite websites. There are a lot of sites that I use on a regular basis (GMail, Facebook, BBC), however they are all fairly well known and are more tools, as opposed to favorite sites. So for something a little different here are my three favorite sites:
Site #1 : Coding4Fun (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/)
As the name would suggest, Coding4Fun is a site dedicated to writing fun applications using the Microsoft .Net framework. There are literally hundreds of articles dealing with everything from detecting your boss’s proximity based on their bluetooth enabled phone to how to program a Wiimote controlled car (not a typo) to work with the .Net framework.
Site #2 : The Code Project (http://www.codeproject.com/)
Continuing with the coding theme, the second site on my list is an open source code sharing site for Microsoft developers. I am a firm believer in not reinventing the wheel, so this site is one of the first on my list when I am faced with tackling a new coding problem.
Site #3 : NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com)
I am a big fan of American Football and NFL.com gives me access to all the news from around the league. Even if you aren’t an American Football fan, the site is very well designed and is an excellent example of how to incorporate social media and other web 2.0 technologies into a site which is both user friendly and accessible.
