Sent the wrong email to the right person?

Ever come back from a night out and just had a "quick look" at your mail? Then you spot it, a message from your ex, maybe your boss or even your mum. After a couple of pints and some terrible weather you aren’t in the best mood ever and just about then you feel the courage to actually tell one of these unsuspecting mailer exactly what you think of them.

Well, no more, Google has added a new feature to their Gmail package, Gmail Goggles. What Goggles does is stop you from sending emails that you really wish you hadn’t. How will they manage this you might ask? Well with these simple steps:

  • The service is active late at night and over weekends, when we are more "social".
  • It uses our weaknesses (maths after a couple of drinks) against us by giving you a bunch of maths equations to solve before you can send your email.

It is easy to set up and all you need to do is click the "Settings" link at the top of your Gmail page, then go to the "Labs" section. You can also set Goggles to protect you at other vulnerable times in your day, maybe before you’ve had breakfast or after a long day at work, perhaps set it so that you can’t take out your frustration on anyone after your football club’s most recent loss. Your call. Our thoughts, we like it.
