Queen to give an audience to Google UK

12 September 2008 | Posted by Nico VanDerWatt | Search

Queen Elizabeth II is set to visit the UK headquarters of the internet search giant Google. The popular video-sharing service, YouTube, is owned by Google.

The reason behind the Queen’s visit is to meet the team who created The Royal Channel on YouTube earlier this year. The main purpose behind the Queen’s visit may also have something to do with her decision to upgrade the Buckingham Palace website, so that it boasts more video footage and becomes more user friendly.

The Queen will be accompanied to Google by the Duke of Edinburgh who at 87 is apparently one of the most tech-savvy members of the Royal Family.
