Social Networks – the new content discovery platform

Social Networks could become the main means of content discovery, according to Entertainment
Media Research’s 2008 survey
.
The survey mentions that 30% of users use social networks to search for new music and videos.

The survey also proved how important it is for brands to get involved in Social Media, showing that 22%
of users click on ads shown on social networks, 20% of users said they would prefer to add brands as “friends” on Facebook.com and other social networks.

The survey also provided information on the impact the web has on print media. 30% of people are simply
not buying newspapers and 22% don’t buy magazines as the content is already accessible online.
