And the small smaller

As has become expected Google has come out as the most used search engine in the US.  According to Hitwise it was streets ahead of its nearest competitor, Yahoo! for the period March 2007 to March 2008. The significant development is that Google has hit an all time high of 67.3% of the market share. The previous highest share to date was 65.3% in April 2007.Google Graph

The four major search engines stack up as follows:

    * Google     : 67.3%
    * Yahoo      : 20.3%
    * Microsoft : 6.7%
    * Ask          : 4.1%

In contrast for the same period Yahoo! and Microsoft have hit all time lows. The question remains what will the smaller players do to stop the Google monster from devouring the search engine world.
