Google has half of UK online ad spend

And that’s not including Doubleclick! Latest figures show that as well as increasing their revenue in the first quarter of 2008 worldwide by 42% to $5.19 billion their market share in the UK looks like it is going to exceed that of ITV. The UK is responsible for 15% of Google’s worldwide revenue. I think it was about that last year if I remember correctly.

With UK revenues in the first quarter of 2008 at £407 million, up 40% year on year, even assuming no growth they will exceed ITV’s revenue of £1.5 billion, and Google has only been in the UK since 2001 – crikey!
