have been in the Chinese search market for about two years now, but are still
playing catch up with market leaders Baidu. One way they are trying to make their
website more popular is by teaming up with a Chinese online music company
that would give it the opportunity to provide free and licensed music downloads
for its users in China.
The service could be up and running in China within the next couple of week and it will draw resources from three global music companies and a host of smaller ones. This could be a major trump card for the US search giant in the race for Chinese search domination. It could even lead to becoming the market leader in a search market that is soon estimated to surpass the US market’s number of users in 2008.
