Yahoo! have their first update of 2008

Small changes noticed on Yahoo!

Last weekend saw Yahoo! roll out a new update and set of results and it all seems to have settled down now.

We noticed that there has been a fair bit of shuffling around but nothing too major. So business as usual then.

But what we want to know is whether or not Yahoo! is ever going to go into a Google style daily everflux? It seems odd that while Google  dropped its update, formerly known as the Google Dance, a couple of years ago Yahoo! is still updating in a ‘chunks’ sort of way.

As with the Google updates years ago there are some benefits from Yahoo! only updating every couple of months. If you rank well then great, you keep your ranking for a while! But the downside is that if you don’t rank well it may be a few months before you see any improvement following changes uoi may have made.

I have heard some chat that Yahoo! may be going back to use Google results as they used to but this is all unfounded as yet. Personally I like having the competition for Google and if Yahoo! did start using Google it would be Google versus MSN for the UK search space, and there is only one winner on that one!
