‘Eraser’ functionality goes live to protect your privacy

Ask.com has launched their ‘Eraser’ product which lets you search without gathering any information on your actions. So for those who are concerned about privacy issues just go to the top right hand side of the homepage and enable the Eraser system, a couple of clicks does it!

The Eraser tool is not retroactive and as with most search engines Ask will keep your information for 18 months if you search in the usual way. It is easy to turn the tool on and off as you see fit.

It’s good to see Ask taking the lead on this and it may force others to respond in kind.
