Facebook
vs. the World.

The
2 billionth image has been uploaded to flickr! The two billionth photo is a badly composed image of a dead tree. The caliber of photography on the Yahoo owned site is far superior to the drunken antics and cat pictures on Facebook which is officially the biggest photo sharing site in the world racking up over 4 billion images phew! Who would have thought?

The Facebook monster is really getting out of hand. I was trawling Alexa recently and found some interesting stats. In Norway, Canada and New Zealand Facebook is the most visited site in the country (with pageviews almost double that of Google). Users of the social network visit on average of 35+ pages per single visit to Facebook compared with the 7 or so when they visit Google. All these numbers are from Alexa which may not be the most accurate but they are certainly good at illustrating trends among the tech savvy, a rapidly increasing population.
