Ask has Chinese Intentions

The Wall Street Journal reports that www.ask.com is planning on spending up to $100 million on their Chinese expansion plans. Modelled on their European push IAC/Interactive will be launching a media and advertising Web site rather than a transaction-based business. I am not sure what this means but I am guessing Search Engine and not a shop!

Ask versions are currently available in the US, UK, Japan, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. It looks like the domains ask.cn and ask.cn.com are already taken, whether by Ask or not it is difficult to tell as some of the Whois information is held back.
