Google Lat Long Blog recently announced that Google Maps will now
allow user generated reviews on local businesses. Until now this was
only available on third-party sites, but now any logged-in user can add
reviews for any business listing. Even though anyone can review a
company, owners and others still have the option to flag a specific
review as inappropriate.
Louis says:
‘This is great and another way to get more content about your
business into Google channels. Potentially there could be problems if
not policed properly but that is a perpetual issue with UGC.’
