In the battle of the social networks, Facebook has taken off its
gloves, preparing for some bare knuckled boxing, with a bold new move
that will stir up the industry. Facebook has a whopping 24 million
users from a demographic with a lot of clout, a significant percentage
of users on the network age between 25 and 34. This market probably
contributes one of the biggest slices of the online spend pie.

Facebook’s new venture provides a development toolkit for making
programs for use within the social network. If you make an application
that is useful and adds value to a user’s experience you instantly get
exposure to up to 24 million people. The platform has only been open
for a week or so and already the users are flooding in – the most
popular, ilike already has a million users.

Robin says:

‘Come up with the correct recipe and you will have almost instant wealth (at least a week) and fame.’
