What a difference a month makes…

What a phenomenal month we’ve had on the fundraising front. Our total now
stands at £12k and we’ve been helped by some very generous donations from
friends and family of all the Tamar team.

We’ve had some great
initiatives in both countries to raise the cash we need for the building
materials. In Cape Town the team raised £420 from their event. In the UK we
organised a South African wine tasting evening and raised over £1k. And everyone
has also pitched in and come up with some great individual ideas to raise cash.
Justin shaved all his body hair and raised over £1,300. Jos had a baking day and
sold cakes in the office and Kristian made sandwiches and provided desk-service
for the day. All these ideas have helped the money roll in.

Today we
heard that planning permission for our new classroom has finally been given and
the advance party of builders start on Monday knocking down the old building to
prepare the ground for our arrival in less than a month -
