UK shoppers will now be able to buy online using a single login. The
recently launched Google Checkout service will make shopping online
much simpler for customers and retail sites that sign up to the
service.

Shoppers will benefit from being able to use a single login to buy
online from all participating stores, and will also be able to track
all orders and delivery information from a single location. Fraud
protection is also offered by the service, which covers any purchases
made through the service. Retailers are provided with a fast, secure
checkout and sales can be processed for free until the end of 2007.
Their stores are identified by the Google Checkout logo in their
AdWords ads.

Nicky says:

"Google’s projects are doing great things for standardising and
pushing the boundaries of the way data is used online, but this type of
project has been done a number times before; the take up will be
interesting to follow."
