Being a sustainable business

As well as our fantastic CSR project, this year we are also working to make
Tamar a socially responsible organisation in an environemental sense. The whole
green issue seems to be the major buzz subject of 2007, and whilst we are aiming
to work on sustainable goals for our future, we also recognise that all the
major issues of the day affect businesses just as much as they affect
individuals. We at Tamar want to do our bit, and hope to set an example to other
business wishing to do the same.

So, I will be using this blog to
publicise the work we at Tamar are doing to achieve this goal, as well as
linking this environmental challenge with our CSR project in Cape Town.

In order to facilitate the changes we are planning to make to the
running of the business, I have been appointed "Environmental Champion" of
Tamar. I will hopefully act as a central point for people wishing to have an
input in to this process, as well as writing on this blog to detail how things
are coming along.

If you have any feedback on anything we discuss, or
indeed want to be part of what we are doing, drop me a line at my work e-mail
address. I’d love to hear more about what other companies do as part of their
environmental commitment.
