Tagging Takes Off

New research has revealed that tagging is quickly becoming the new
internal search tool of choice among many web users. More and more
people are tagging their published content with descriptive keywords
and phrases and the American Life project recently found that 28% of
Americans who regularly use the Internet have tagged content. This
business of intelligently tagging content is seen as a crucial element
for the next stage of ‘semantic search’.

Henry says:

‘Tagging is a bit like adding meta data keywords and that died
as it was abused so much. Let’s hope tagging doesn’t get spammed in the
same manner.’
